Welcome to Module 4

Overview of Course:

When we talk about our senses, most of us immediately think of hearing, touch, taste, vision, and smell. But did you know that there are other senses that also play a crucial role in our overall sensory experience? In particular, the Proprioceptive, Vestibular, and Interoceptive senses can have a profound impact on our ability to communicate effectively.

For speech-language pathologists, understanding sensory regulation is key to helping children with complex communication needs. While we may take our ability to regulate our sensory experiences for granted, it is important to recognize that many children face significant challenges in this area.

In this course, we will explore the three senses mentioned above in depth, and discuss specific activities and strategies that you can use as a speech language pathologist to improve communication outcomes for your patients or students. By harnessing the power of sensory regulation, you can create new and exciting opportunities for growth and development. Join us and start unlocking the potential of this often-overlooked aspect of communication!
